Homemade Haven helps people better understand and take control of what they use in their homes through simple DIY cleaning products, toiletries and skincare made with fewer, more intentional ingredients.

Where possible, we also aim to avoid unnecessary plastics; choosing amber glass and paper-based packaging to help protect ingredient quality and reduce waste.


A Note From The Founder

Homemade Haven began with my own health journey. Living with Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA), a condition that affects mitochondrial function, led me to become more aware of everyday exposure to environmental chemicals — not only through food, but also through the products we clean with, wash with and apply to our skin.

While researching my condition, I became increasingly interested in how environmental exposures may influence overall health and cellular function. This raised questions for me about the products we use every day and the ingredients they contain.

That curiosity ultimately led me to explore DIY alternatives.

What Makes Us Different

    Our ingredients are thoughtfully sourced. Organic where possible and prioritised for what they do and how clearly they’re understood, rather than what’s trending.

  • We avoid plastic where possible

    We aim to minimise plastic use wherever practical, including in both our packaging and postage. Where possible, we prioritise glass, paper-based and recyclable materials, recognising that some plastics are still unavoidable within modern supply chains.

  • A deliberate choice of amber glass

    Amber glass helps protect ingredients from light and UV exposure. While it is breakable and slightly heavier to ship, it is a considered trade-off that supports ingredient integrity and encourages reuse.
