DIY Bath Milk Soak

A silky, softening bath soak with a luxurious milky finish

Yield 300 g  ·  Difficulty Beginner  ·  Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 150 g Bicarbonate of Soda (Food Grade)
  • 100 g Cleaning Salt
  • 30 g Gum Acacia
  • 15 g Organic Arrowroot Powder
  • 15–20 drops Soothe Essential Oil Blend (optional)

Method

  1. Ensure all equipment and the storage jar are completely dry.
  2. Combine the Bicarbonate of Soda, Cleaning Salt, Gum Acacia and Organic Arrowroot Powder in a clean mixing bowl. Mix well.
  3. Add Essential Oil if using and mix thoroughly.
  4. Transfer to a clean airtight jar.
  5. Label with product name, date made, and ‘¼–½ cup per bath’.

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Dry spatula
  • Digital scales
  • Airtight jar

How to use

Add ¼–½ cup to a warm bath and stir to dissolve. Soak for 15–20 minutes. Pat dry and follow with a body moisturiser. Rinse the bath after use to prevent residue and slipping.

Storage

Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. Moisture causes clumping. Use within 12 months.

Safety

Mix Essential Oil thoroughly into the powder before adding to the bath; undispersed oils on water can irritate skin. Gum Acacia makes bath surfaces slippery; rinse the bath thoroughly after use. Do not use on broken or sunburned skin. Keep out of reach of children.
