DIY Foot Soak
Feet carry everything and get very little attention until they're causing a problem. A regular foot soak softens calluses, soothes tired muscles, and — with the right blend — is genuinely restorative. This one takes five minutes to make and dissolves in a basin of warm water. The salt does the heavy lifting.
HERO INGREDIENT — Cleaning Salt
Salt in a foot soak has a dual function: it draws fluid from swollen tissue to reduce inflammation, and its mineral content helps soften hardened skin around heels and pressure points. Higher salt concentration than a full bath soak means a stronger effect in a smaller volume of water — which is exactly what tired feet need after a long day.
WHAT ELSE IS IN THIS RECIPE
Bicarbonate of Soda (Food Grade) — softens water, deodorises, and contributes to the skin-softening effect on rough heel skin
Essential Oil — optional — Peppermint is a classic for foot soaks; the cooling effect it creates is immediate and satisfying
I RECOMMEND TRYING IT WITH BOTANIC EMBER LIGHT
Botanic Ember Light — Sweet Orange, Bergamot FCF, and Cedarwood Atlas — is warm and softly citrus, which works particularly well in a foot soak where you want comfort rather than stimulation. The Cedarwood grounds it and keeps the scent present through the full soak time, even as the water cools.
