DIY Oil-Based Roller Fragrance
The simplest personal fragrance you can make — two ingredients, a roller bottle, and your chosen blend. Oil-based fragrances behave differently to alcohol-based ones: they release scent slowly and continuously as the oil warms against your skin, and they last longer because they don't evaporate. There's no simpler way to wear something you've made yourself.
HERO INGREDIENT — Jojoba Oil
Jojoba Oil is the ideal carrier for a roller fragrance because it's technically a liquid wax, not an oil — which means it doesn't go rancid and has an almost indefinite shelf life when stored correctly. It has no scent of its own, which means it won't interfere with your blend, and its viscosity is perfect for a roller application — thin enough to roll smoothly, thick enough to carry the fragrance without it running.
WHAT ELSE IS IN THIS RECIPE
Essential Oil blend — the fragrance — the blend on this page is our recommendation for this format; 20 drops per 10 mL gives a wearable concentration
I RECOMMEND TRYING IT WITH BOTANIC EMBER
Botanic Ember was developed for exactly this kind of application — an oil-based fragrance worn close to skin, where its Sandalwood, Vetiver, and Frankincense base can warm and evolve through the day. It's the blend I wear myself, and the roller format is my preferred way to apply it — precise, unhurried, and exactly as concentrated as you choose to make it.
