DIY Upholstery Freshener Spray
Sofas, armchairs, cushions, car seats — fabric absorbs everything. This spray uses Polysorbate 20 to properly disperse the Essential Oils into water so they don't spot fabric, and a preservative to keep it stable between uses. The bicarb neutralises odour on contact, while the blend does the work you can smell.
HERO INGREDIENT — Polysorbate 20
Polysorbate 20 is an emulsifier — it allows oil and water to mix properly rather than separating. In a room or fabric spray this matters enormously: without it, Essential Oil droplets sit undispersed in the water and will land directly on fabric as concentrated spots, potentially staining it. With Polysorbate 20, the oils are fully solubilised and spray as a fine, even mist.
WHAT ELSE IS IN THIS RECIPE
Bicarbonate of Soda (Food Grade) — dissolved into the formula to neutralise odour-causing molecules in fabric fibres on contact
Geogard ECT — preservative that keeps the water-based formula stable and prevents microbial growth between uses
Essential Oil — the scent — choose whatever suits the room; this is where the blend recommendation on this page comes in
